In contrast to my colorful illustrations, this series is about essence.
Each muse, goddess, scholar, seer, and firstborn embodies a specific state of becoming.
I. Myths and Muses
The Myths and Muses is an interpretation of mythical muses with ancestral and cultural influences.
Every muse carries her own specific and intimate story and yet they are all interconnected, forming a web that continues to unfold with each person they encounter.

She is holding Agaseke, as a symbol of her trust.
She keeps within it whispers of the world, entrusted to her alone, ensuring that no secret escapes into the wild and turn to chaos.
She is a guardian in a world that can never know the full weight of the truths it holds…
In the stillness of the night, she becomes a quiet force, a protector of what must remain hidden.
She remains a sentinel, her trust unbroken.

In daylight, her whole being radiates warmth and wisdom.
Eyes all knowing, she remains a sentinel, her trust unbroken.

Wherever you look, there you are. Wherever you go, you take yourself with you.
One moon, going through the same transitions over and over again.
Just like the moon, the muse is stuck in transitions and keeps missing and meeting herself in an infinite cycle.

She has the heart of a Samurai. Honorable, courageous, loyal and compassionate when it’s sensible to be. She looks to the future and lives the present with a high level of self control and sense of duty.
A poised leader of quiet strength, Muse I embodies the grace and discipline of a ruler bound by duty.

She is a high priestess en devenir. Too soft all around, everyone says of her. They don’t think she can cut it. She is not worried at all about securing the spot. She is a Master in the arts of potions and venom.
She waits with serene confidence. She knows the power in patience, and the strength in being quietly unstoppable.
This is a woman who will conquer the world by simply being herself.

She is a brave and proud fighter.
She embodies the perfect union of grace and ferocity.
She knows she is destined to be a legendary warrior.
She is always training in harsh conditions and pushes herself to the limit.
She stands poised in the light, but her spirit is prepared to fight and prevail even in darkness.
She is here to remind us that true warriors are shaped by their relentless will to rise, to fight, and to claim their place in history.

She is a mother of three, pregnant with her fourth. She guards her home while her husband is away. Her heart aches with longing and uncertainty.
She wishes she could be all round and soft like the moon and illuminate the darkness of the world without having to get too close.
She holds a spear not out of desire, but necessity.
She wasn’t made for war, she is not fearless. She is simply unwilling to let the world take what she guards.
This is a tribute to the warrior mother, the one who fights not to destroy, but to preserve.

She is a scholar. far away from home. She left home for books and knowledge. She loves to spend her life in a library, lost in manuscripts and scribbles.
However, this means that she needs to live far away from everyone she loves. She is going to write down every little detail of the faces she loves and of every tree that ever grew in her hometown. They will forever be immortalized this way.
She is a scholar, a keeper and a protector of what is vanishing.

She is a novice at a temple. She heard that gods provide wishes to the most hardworking and worthy novices. She doesn’t wish to be a novice at a temple! She dreams of living her life unruly like a hawk, run away from conventions, marry and divorce a few men. She plans on proving herself to her superiors, earn the trust of the gods and get her wish! The irony of it all!
This is not a rebellion, but the story of a woman who bargains with the sacred, bends her devotion into a ladder and climbs her way out.

She is the daughter of a rich merchant at the edge of the desert. Pure and unspoiled. The rare pearl in all of his treasures. But even rare pearls have a price to secure strong alliances.
Muse VII is not a passive observer, she is slipping through a future never meant for her.
What happens if she chooses her own fate instead of having it chosen for her? Tonight she will steal a horse and ride till she can’t feel her face. Her last night full of wilderness and freewill…
II. Rebirth Goddesses
The Rebirth Goddesses collection is an imagined pantheon.
Each goddess invites you to a state of transformation as an interpretation of how identity evolves…

She is holding two spheres, each with a different perspective.
She represents a reimagined goddess archetype.
She wants to remind you that reality is never singular, it shifts, bends and expands depending on the lens through which it is perceived.
Her message is: to understand the world, one must be willing to see it from more than one truth.

She is a healer rooted in ancient knowledge and divinity.
She is chanting a blessing with six feathers rotating along the six directions: north, south, east, west, above, and below.
A prayer to bring you home to yourself whenever you feel pulled in a thousand directions.
She is reminding us that even when we feel fractured and scattered, the divine holds the map back to center, back to self, back to home.

She is a leader. Determined. Steady. Principled. Intelligent and firm in loyalty. She is determined to arise greatness in you and inspire you to make sound and wise choices for your life.
This piece explores power beyond force, leadership defined by presence rather than decree.
The spears once a tool for warriors for conquest and expansion are here to signify her status as a strategist, and a maker of futures.

She is a Master of many forms. She is as ruthless as she is compassionate. She is a mother and a warrior. A bird and a lion. She is both a pearl and a spear.
She who is many, is here to show you that every version of yourself is real, sacred, and already whole.
She is an invitation to embody every version of yourself without apology, and to know that all roads can still lead home.

She is a monarch. An heiress to an ancient dynasty.
Her destiny echoes through superstition and divine order.
She is more than a ruler, she is a legend.
Enigmatic, sharp and unapologetic, she assumes her duties and responsibilities with grace and strength.
She speaks to the strength required to carry tradition without being consumed by it.

She is a wizard. She holds a sphere of Yin and Yang to remind you that each above has a below.
Every light brings its shadow, and above all, both are integral parts of life. One can’t exist without the other.
She embodies the enigmatic presence of a seer. Wisdom is the rare gift of foresight, but also the solitude it bestows on those who hold it. How do those who see beyond past and present carry the weight of their knowing?

She is a high priestess. She wants to remind you of the real value of things and that eyes can easily be mislead. She wants you to be wary of tricks that cloud your judgement and bring mistrust in your world. She is inviting you to see with your whole being, not just your eyes.
Majestic and commanding, she does not mistake spectacle for power, nor noise for strength.
She is a watchful guardian against illusions.
III. Bukuru series
A series inspired by Ugandan supermodel Kiara Kabukuru’s profile.
Bukuru is also the first born in a set of twin in Kinyarwanda.

Bukuru I is for all the firstborns who follow all the rules, never cross the line and lead by example. They understand that the privilege of experimenting and making mistakes will never be bestowed upon them.

Bukuru II is for all the firstborns who learn how to parent their siblings even when they are still children themselves. They are caretakers, teachers, policymakers…Roles that they seriously take on despite their young age.

Bukuru III is for all the firstborns who learn to fight for their siblings’ survival against all odds. They are warriors trapped in a hard shell that few emotions can penetrate. They are protectors and survivors.
